Where are my data stored? Are they secured?

Our software platform is hosted at O.V.H (https://www.ovh.co.uk) on a dedicated and secure server. OVH is the number 3 internet hosting company in the world with more than 17 datacenters in 16 countries. Your data are well protected and backedup daily. They are secure and can only be accessed through the unique URL attached to your product.

If I loose my product, can I block it or delete its data?

Should you want to erase all the content on your product, no problem. Send us an email at contact@flashme.io (using of course the same email address that you’ve used to activate your product) and we will reset your product for you. All its data will be definitely erased from our servers.

Who can have access to the data/information posted on my bracelet?

All the data store on your product are linked to a URL. That URL is accessed when your product is scanned. Of course, you could also share that URL by other means if you wanted to. Finally, we can provide you, (upon request) with a .PNG file of your QR Code so that you can use it on other supports.

When will I receive my order?

We work very hard to make sure all our products are in stock all the time. Therefore, your order will be shipped within 24 hours. Our products are shipped from Paris, France. Depending on where you are, you will get them in a few days.

I still haven’t received my order, how come?

Because of the “small” monetary value of our items, we cannot give you a tracking number (unless your order exceeds 50€). But let us know (at contact@flashme.io) if you have not received your order as we do have other ways to check the status of your order.

How do I activate my product?

Just scan/touch your product for the first time and you will arrive on your “setup page” where you will be able to customize what your QR Code/NFC Chip should display. To help you do that, we have a variety of modules for various uses. Not to worry, your choice is never final. Once you will have completed the activation process, you will receive an email with instructions and a link to go back to the setup page and change, as often as you want, what your product should display when scanned. That’s it! When your product will be scanned again, what you’ve decided to show and share will simply appear.

I have not received my activation mail

Check your spam folder, sometimes our emails end up there. We’re working hard on changing this. But if you really don’t see it, email us at contact@flashme.io and just give us your product number. Your product number is the last 8 digits of the address displayed when you scan it.

I lost the password to my product, now what?

Contact us at contact@flashme.io with your product number (the last 8 digits of the address displayed when you scan it), and we will resend it for you.

How do I modify the content/usage of my product?

After the setup process, you will have received a mail with a link to go back to the setup page. Use that link and you will be able to modify the data of your product as often as you want. Alternatively, you can go back to the setup page, from our web site (option “set up my product”). You will be asked to enter your product id and its password (you’ve received both information in your activation email).

What is a QR code?

A QR Code is a bar code, like the one you see on all the products you buy, but slightly different. First, it is a 2 dimensional code as it has a square shape. Also, it can be very easily and quickly (QR stands for Quick Response) decoded by any smartphone. Finally, a QR Code can “contain” lots of useful information, specifically in our case, a web address.

What is a NFC?

Near field communication (NFC) is the set of protocols that enable electronic devices to establish radio communication with each other by touching the devices together, or bringing them into proximity to a distance of typically 10cm or less. For the Flashme products, we have included a NFC chip in some of our products so that this protocol can also be used in addition of the QRCode. For now most phone can read a NFC chip, except the Iphones...

How do I scan my QR Code or read my NFC Chip?

There are many applications which read QR Codes (all free). We’ve tested several and we recommend I-NIGMA (available on the iPhone Appstore, Android Market or at www.i-nigma.mobi). Just start I-Nigma and bring your phone’s camera close to the QR Code, as if you want to take a picture of it. Within seconds, the QR Code will be “decoded” and your phone will launch your navigator and take you to the coded web address. To read an NFC chip, you just need to activate the NFC protocol and your smartphone and then, to “touch” our product… that’s it! Very fast and very easy.

Can I be scanned without my knowledge/approval?

Not really... People need to be close to a QR Code in order to flash it, and the Code has to stand still for a few seconds in order to be read, so no one will be able to flash you without your consent. Same thing for the NFC Chip, your product needs to be touched, so you would know.

All Flashme product have both a QR Code and a NFC chip?

No. For now, we’re only offering both options on the Pet Tag, the I-Tag and the sticker. All of our bracelet use for now only the QR Code technology.

My QR Code isn’t working, what’s going on?

That should not be the case. But maybe it is. Please, take a regular picture of your QR Code and email it to us at contact@flashme.io. We will check on our side and if indeed, there is something wrong with your code, we will send you right away a replacement product, complimentary of course (including shipping cost).
